Cool Culture and our cultural institution partners are here to help you give your child the chance to grasp new concepts and develop new interests while developing a love of learning through the arts, sciences, and nature. Our community of cultural liaisons, early childhood educators, and social service staff throughout the five boroughs work hard to ensure that your day at the museum or nature center provides the most rewarding learning experience possible. From deciding where to go and planning your outing to feeling comfortable and enjoying yourselves once there. We believe culture is for everything – that’s what makes it cool!
As a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or caregiver, you are your little one’s first teacher and most important connection to the world. Through Cool Culture, you can help your child take the first steps toward cultural curiosity and a love of learning. Family visits to museums, botanical gardens, historical societies, zoos and other cultural institutions provide young children with the kind of early learning experiences that are fundamental to school success. These visits also offer families the opportunity to explore, learn and spend quality time together.
At Cool Culture, we believe that community investment in its youngest citizens yields positive outcomes for children and a stronger society, and better culture. We bring together families, educators and cultural institutions to make the rich educational potential of the arts, sciences and nature available to all children. With the support of our 90 cultural institution partners, Cool Culture provides 50,000 families with children in 439 of the city’s education centers and schools with free, unlimited access to New York’s finest institutions. Last year alone, participating families made nearly 100,000 visits to our cultural partners. They had a great time!
