Literacy Through Culture (LTC) is a collaborative project with Bank Street College of Education which brings museum education programming to children and parents at six early childhood programs in order to increase parent involvement through education and museum programming.

The Laboratory for New Audiences is an initiative funded in part by an Institute for Museum and Library Services’ 21st Century Museum Professionals grant. The Laboratory is designed to provide museum professionals with a deeper understanding of the needs of new, diverse family audiences, and strategies for partnering with preschools and social service agencies to develop educational programs that are responsive to this audience of novice museum-going parents.

This internship is a fully hands-on experience with opportunities to be heavily involved in the strategic planning and implementation of the organization’s external communications and legislative efforts.
This volunteer position will report to the Communications Coordinator to perform legislative outreach on city and state levels, provide support for communications projects, and work on the Cool Culture blog.
