COOL CULTURE & YOU

By becoming a Cultural Liaison, you'll be the primary contact for Cool Culture and the families of your early childhood center.

By sharing your enjoyment of culture, YOU can inspire parents to go beyond their comfort zones and use cultural experiences to expand their children’s interests and love of learning.

Cool Culture provides the tools you'll need to assist parents -- via training workshops, distribution of parent informational resources and our unique annual Cool Culture Fair.

Cool Resources for Your Families

The Cool Culture Family Pass provides families with unlimited, free visits to over 90 cultural institution partners.

In addition, Cool Culture provides all participating parents with a subscription to our quarterly newsletter, Family Time, with previews of upcoming events; a monthly e-mail newsletter, e-Family Time, with up-to-date information on cultural happenings; and Cool Culture Connect, an audio guide for keeping connected with the Cool Culture community.

Your Professional Development

As a member of our community of more than 400 Cultural Liaisons, you'll receive training and professional development that will provide you with the educational tools you'll need to inspire families to make cultural visits. This includes pre- and post-visit learning activities, questions and discussion guides that foster verbal literacy, and ways to link visits to the classroom curriculum.

Cool Culture’s training workshops are run by museum educators and professionals with expertise in early childhood education. Focusing on different themes, each workshop takes place at some of New York City’s best-known cultural centers, providing Cultural Liaisons with a valuable opportunity to tour our partner institutions throughout the five boroughs.

As a Cultural Liaison, you are part of a growing network of educators and early childhood professionals. Cool Culture urges you to reach out to your colleagues to share your expertise, cultural experiences, and innovative ideas for engaging families. As a trusted resource for families, you are the person that brings our cultural institution partners to life.
