Our program for early childhood centers brings together families, educators and New York City’s museums, gardens, and zoos to prepare children for future success and enhance family involvement in their child’s development.
The program is aligned with Early Learn requirements for community partnerships and family engagement, and NYS Pre-K Foundation for the Common Core in social/emotional development, approaches to learning, and literacy.
Enrolled early childhood centers receive:
Who is the "Cultural Liaison"? Each early childhood center must select a staff member to serve as the "Cultural Liaison"; who plays the lead role in implementing Cool Culture at your site. The staff member should have e-mail access, strong administrative skills and work closely with parents. Responsibilities include coordinating Family Pass registration and distribution three times a year, attending an orientation in November, completing online surveys, orienting families about Cool Culture and motivating Family Pass usage.
Dates for professional development workshops and special family events
are TBD. This timeline is subject to change.
Accepted centers will receive an invoice in late August. Payment is due September 22, 2016.
