Strengthening Families

Cool Culture is a social justice organization led by people of color. We exist to ensure families of color and families experiencing poverty have access to the cultural resources that all people need to thrive.

For 25 years, we have provided over a million families with the resources and experiences they need for joyful cultural engagement, self and collective expression, and to preserve their cultural life. By centering families in everything we do, we honor their expertise in shaping the experiences they need and deserve, as well as ensure their influence on the cultural, economic, and political systems that shape our lives and communities.

Celebrating 25 years of cultural access, advocacy & joy!

In a time when NYC families, especially those of color and experiencing poverty are facing heightened threats to their well-being, we’re continuing to trust in and invest in the power and agency of everyday people to positively impact their own realities. Join us as we recommit to culture as a tool for organizing and joy as a form of wellness. To celebrate our anniversary year we will:

Amplify Voices of Families & Communities

Lift up the rich stories of the people, families and communities who partner with us

Empower Educators Through Arts

Offer guidance to educators around using arts and culture to enrich family engagement and children’s’ educational experiences

Center Equity in Culture

Support cultural institutions to meet the needs of all families — not just those with more privilege or

power — by centering equity, during this critical political moment
