Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours/month

About Cool Culture

For 25 years, Cool Culture has advanced cultural equity by ensuring that all New York City families—especially those historically excluded from arts and culture—can access, shape, and benefit from the city’s rich cultural resources. Our mission is to amplify the voices of these families and empower historically marginalized communities through their engagement with art and culture, both within cultural institutions and beyond. Every year, we partner with over 450 early education centers and under-resourced public schools to offer 50,000 families free access to and activities at 90 museums, zoos, botanical gardens, historical societies, and other cultural institutions across all five boroughs…

Board Member Responsibilities

  • Attend quarterly board meetings and serve on at least one committee
  • Contribute professional expertise
  • Participate in fundraising and advocacy
  • Join the team at family events
  • Make an annual financial contribution
  • Serve as an ambassador for Cool Culture

Ideal Candidate

  • Legal professional or senior corporate executive
  • Deep commitment to equity, arts, and education
  • Strong community or professional network in NYC
  • Collaborative and mission-driven
